The Terps are coming off a weekend sweep against Alabama A&M, American and North Texas. Maryland won in three straight sets over the Bulldogs and the Mean Green, then earned their first five set victory of the season over American. The Terps showcased their best hitting percentage against Alabama A&M at .500.

- Maryland has a reputation for strong blocking defense. The Terps continued to showcase that strength throughout the first six matches, especially against Troy blocking 19 attempts. Maryland ranks fourth in the Big Ten in blocks per set with 2.85.
- The Terps have a long history with Lehigh, dating back to 1980. Maryland has won all four matches in series history. The last time they met was in 2014 where Maryland won 3-1.
- Maryland leads the series with UMBC, 13-1. Hughes and the Terps faced UMBC in 2021, taking a 3-0 victory.

- Samantha Schnitta and Sam Csire lead the Terps in kills and aces after six matches. Schnitta recorded a career-day against American, adding 21 kills, 10 digs and five aces. Csire set a career-best 7 aces, in addition to 15 digs and 9 kills against the Eagles.
- Sydney Dowler continues to be the assist leader for the Terps in her final season. She averages 6.04 helpers per set. She set a season-high 31 assists against North Texas on Sunday. Dowler moved into 8th place in Maryland's career service ace ranks, dropping in her 107th career service against the Mean Green. Additionally, she ranks fifth all-time in career assists with 3,456.
- On the defensive side of the ball, Lilly Gunter ranks eighth in the Big Ten averaging 3.74 digs per set. She has recorded double-digit digs in five of six matches so far.
- Eva Rohrbach leads the Terps in blocks with 32. The sophomore put up a career best 11 blocks in the first two matches and has added at least two blocks in every match since then. Anastasia Russ has continued to be a leader as a blocker. The graduate student has added five matches with three or more blocks, including two matches with 7 apiece.

- The Terps welcome four new faces to College Park this season. Duru Gökçen, Katherine Scherer and Lilly Wagner make up the freshmen class. Wagner, a MaxPreps First Team All-American, brings a new skill set to the setter position for the Terps.
- Skylar Gerhardt will join the sophomore class as a transfer from Villanova. The Manhattan Beach, CA, native led Villanova in service aces (43), ranked third in kills (295) and fifth in digs (235).
- Freshman Katherine Scherer made her collegiate debut at the LSU Tournament. The outside hitter played five sets for the Terps, earning four kills, two digs, one block.
- Duru Gökçen played in her first career match against Alabama A&M, playing in one set. The Istanbul, Turkey native, recorded two blocks, two kills and a dig.

- The Lehigh Mountain Hawks are 4-2 coming into the weekend, with losses to Towson and Southeast Missouri State.
- They currently rank among the top programs in the Patriot League. Last season, they finished seventh in the conference, just narrowly missing out on a berth in the conference tournament.
- The Mountain Hawk offense has four hitters averaging over two kills per set. Junior Natalie Luscomb leads the team with an average of 2.75 and has the second highest hitting percentage in the conference. Senior Makena Smith leads Lehigh in assists with 6.00 assists per set.
- On defense, senior Kyleigh Brown leads the team in digs while Madison McCartney owns an average of 1.12 blocks per set.
- UMBC enters the weekend looking for their first win of the season after starting 0-6. They have a strong non-conference slate facing then-No. 8 Purdue, Kansas State and then-No. 22 Dayton before heading to College Park on Sunday.
- Senior Mia Bilusic is the offensive leader for UMBC averaging 2.84 kills per set. Aysia Miller owns 4.78 digs per set and Mila Ilieva owns .84 blocks per set.
- UMBC has accumulated 193 kills, 230 digs, 30 blocks and 32 aces across their first six matches.
- UMBC will face Lehigh on Saturday before the match with the Terrapins.
