As a Freshman (2009-10): Top diver on the team, racking up best marks in the 1-meter (307.50) and 3-meter (336.15)...finished 20th in the 3-meter and 25th in the 1-meter at the ACC Championships...tallied points with a pair of sixth place finishes in the 1-and 3-meter at the 2009 Terrapin Cup...established a career-best performance in the 3-meter.

Before Maryland: Competed for coach Kevin Beabout and Aaron Schwartz at Rockville High School...improved his finish at Metro Championships every year, beginning with a 10th place finish as a freshman to a fifth place finish as a senior...earned four varsity letters...T.A.L.E.N.T Award winner in 2006...earned Sportsmanship Award in 2007...also participated with Montgomery Dive Club where he was an AAU All-American on the 1 meter at 2006 AAU Nationals.

Personal: Son of Alan and Susan Sachs...has one sister, Alexandra...lists his favorite pregame meal as scrambled eggs and cinnamon toast...member of the physics club and ultimate Frisbee club in high school...also senior class treasurer...Mechanical Engineering major.
