The University of Maryland women's lacrosse team has placed five student-athletes on the 2001 IWLCA South Region All-America list. The Terps lead all teams with four first team selections.
Attacker Allison Comito (Glen Head, N.Y.) is joined by midfielders Jen Adams (Brighton, So. Australia) and Quinn Carney (Flemington, N.J.) as well as defender Courtney Martinez (Towson, Md.) as first team selections. Fellow defender Tori Wellington (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) was a second team selection.
All four first team selections are up for national All-America honors while Adams and Martinez are also up for additional honors in the national player of the year and national defender of the year.
