Baton Rouge, La. -- Senior Thema Napier (Columbia, Md.) concluded her season Wednesday evening at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Louisiana State University placing second in her heat and 11th overall in the qualifying run of the 400-meter hurdles.
Napier's time of 58.31--third best among senior competition--placed her second behind UCLA's Sheena Johnson in the fourth of four heats of competition.
Napier missed qualifying by only .54 seconds. To be eligible, a runner must finish with one of the top nine times in the event.
Napier was the only Terp to qualify for NCAA competition this season. She established a career best time of 57.73 claiming the ECAC Championships two weeks ago.
