GREENSBORO, N.C. -
Maryland senior and 2008 ACC Player of the Year Crystal Langhorne was named to the All-ACC Tournament team, the league announced at the conclusion of the championship on Sunday. She earns all-tournament nods for the fourth-consecutive year, earning a spot on the second team.
Crystal Langhorne (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro) becomes the only player in Maryland women's basketball history to earn All-ACC Tournament honors four times. She was a first team pick as a freshman and sophomore, then was named to the second team the last two seasons.
This weekend, Langhorne averaged 20.0 points and 9.0 rebounds in two games at the ACC Tournament, also shooting 75 percent from the floor, going 18-for-24.
Langhorne led the Terrapins to their fifth-straight ACC Tournament semifinal appearance. She had 24 points and seven rebounds in the win over Boston College in the quarterfinals, then netted 16 points and grabbed 11 boards in the semifinal loss to Duke. The double-double was the fourth of her career in the tournament, tying for the second most all-time for a Terrapin and tying for fourth-most by a player in the ACC Tournament.
Making the All-ACC Tournament first team was North Carolina's Erlana Larkins, who was also picked the Most Valuable Player, LaToya Pringle, and Rashanda McCants. Joining them were Duke's Abby Waner and Virginia's Monica Wright. On the second team were Mickel Picco of Boston College, Wanisha Smith and Joy Cheek of Duke, and Cetera DeGraffenreid of North Carolina.
Maryland, who is 30-3 on the season, will take a break until the NCAA Selection Show on ESPN on Monday, March 17, where it will learn its seeding and matchup in the NCAA Tournament. The Terps will play its first and second rounds games at Comcast Center on Sunday and Tuesday, March 23 and 25. Tickets are still available for the games at Comcast Center at 1-800-IM-A-TERP.
