COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Assistant coach Marlin Chinn will head to Chicago this weekend for the Assistant Basketball Coaches' Symposium, A Step Up: Chicago 2011, where he was invited to be on a panel of the nation's top assistants.

A Step Up (Athletic Symposium to Elevate & Uplift Professionals) was specifically designed as a career building and professional development opportunity for women's basketball assistant coaches.

Felicia Allen, a former NIKE Manager for women's basketball and Team Executive in the WNBA, created the Symposium along with her husband Johnny Allen with one mission: to help assistant coaches gain knowledge, discover coaching insights and develop strategies, techniques and tactics to help them reach their full coaching potential.

The panel will discuss topics such as `Crisis Management', `Rising To The Top', `Becoming A Champion', `Winning The Right Way', `Developing Game Changers', and several others.

Assistant coaches Kelly Bond (Texas A&M), Carol Owens (Notre Dame) and ESPN analyst Carolyn Peck are just a few of the other panelists invited.

The first symposium was held last year in Atlanta, Georgia. More than 100 coaches from universities and colleges around the country attended the two-day event. The name, A Step Up was developed for the 2011 Symposium.
