COLLEGE PARK, MD. -
The University of Maryland women's soccer team continued its spring season Friday night with a 1-0 home shutout of Penn.
Rising senior Danielle Hubka scored her third goal of the spring, finishing off a feed from rising senior Bailey Bodell.
"Our team put in a good performance tonight," said Maryland head coach Jonathan Morgan. "We still need to develop more consistency with our decision making in the second half of games, but overall I'm pleased with the team's performance. Some of the sequences the girls have put together in the last few games have been absolutely awesome and enjoyable to watch. Our team defending continues to improve each week and that's exciting to see as well. Hopefully, we'll put in another good week of training and prepare ourselves for DC United on Saturday."
The Terps are set to play DC United Women in one of the feature matches at the Headers For Hope 2012 Spring Showcase at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown, Md.
According to its website, "Headers For Hope was established in honor of every individual who has been diagnosed with cancer; every family member who has held the hand of their loved one being treated for cancer; and all friends acting as a support system to someone who has been told the news they have cancer. Unfortunately, cancer more often than not hits home, which means this foundation was established for you."
