In The Media Spotlight
Playing for Maryland means playing in the nation?™s fourth-largest media market. The Terrapins are covered extensively by two of the nation?™s top-10 newspapers on a daily basis: The Washington Post and The Baltimore Sun.

USA Today, the nation?™s newspaper, is headquartered less than 20 miles from Comcast Center.

The Terrapin Sports Network can be accessed world wide via the Internet at www.umterps.com. There are 15 stations on the network, which can be heard throughout the state of Maryland. Johnny Holliday, the Voice of the Terrapins, is in his 32nd year doing play-by-play for Maryland Basketball.

Maryland is scheduled to appear on national television 14 times in 2009-10.

Every major television network ?“ ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX ?“ has a major news-gathering affiliate in Washington, D.C., and Baltimore. No university in the East boasts eight major news outlets within a 35-mile radius of its campus except the University of Maryland. Regional cable power Comcast SportsNet and other local cable outlets provide the Terps with a TV news presence and access that is unmatched in college basketball.
