- Goalkeeper Alex Fitzpatrick made four saves and picked up one ground ball in the win.
- Maryland outshot Penn, 36-13, and the Terps held an 11-10 advantage in ground balls. The Terrapins took 16 draw controls compared to the Quakers’ five.
FITZPATRICK, WHITTLE EARN B1G WEEKLY HONORS
- Senior Alex Fitzpatrick and freshman Megan Whittle earned Big Ten weekly honors after helping the Terps to two dominant wins.
- Fitzpatrick was named the Defensive Player of the Week after making 17 saves in two games last week. She made a season-high 10 saves and allowed just two goals against Towson, and made seven saves and a season-high four ground balls against Florida.
- Whittle earned Freshman of the Week honors after breaking out with six goals against Towson. She recorded her fourth hat trick of the season against Florida, and has recorded multiple-goal games in all but one contest this season.

- Freshman attacker Megan Whittle has been added to the 2015 Tewaaraton Watch List, as announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation Thursday.
- Whittle immediately entered No. 1 Maryland’s starting lineup and has helped the Terps start the season with an 8-0 record. She is second on the team with 25 goals. Whittle came to Maryland as the top-ranked freshman in her class by Inside Lacrosse, and she is the only freshman on the 53-person list.
- Whittle joins defending Tewaaraton winner Taylor Cummings, Megan Douty, Brooke Griffin, Kelly McPartland and Alice Mercer on the watch list. The Terrapins now have six players on the watch list, the most of any team.
FITZPATRICK MAKES STATEMENT WITH TERPS
- A transfer from Lehigh, redshirt senior Alex Fitzpatrick has led the Terps in goal. Fitzpatrick has started all eight games and has played 403 minutes in the cage.
- Fitzpatrick boasts a 6.24 goals-against average and .517 save percentage. Her GAA is good for sixth in the nation and first in the conference, while her save percentage is ranked 10th in the NCAA and first in the Big Ten.
- Fitzpatrick allowed a season-low two goals against Towson, and kept the Tigers off the board completely in the second half. She also recorded a season-best 10 saves against Towson.
