Hourly Rate: $15.00/hour (Part-time; not eligible for University benefits)
About the Role
The Terp Host position is a customer service-focused role. As a Terp Host, you'll interact directly with fans on game days, assisting them with their needs and ensuring they have a positive experience. Terp Hosts are ambassadors for Maryland Athletics, representing the University with the highest standards of professionalism, guest service, and communication.
Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding service and create a welcoming atmosphere for all guests
- Understand and apply game day policies and procedures
- Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents at your assigned post
- Proactively encourage positive guest behavior
- Assist fans with questions, directions, or any issues that arise
- Exceed the expectations of Terrapin fans and visitors
- Represent the University of Maryland Athletics with pride and professionalism
Job Expectations
Before applying, please consider the following requirements:
- Work a minimum number of football games, basketball games, spring sports events, and special events as outlined in the employee handbook
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards
- Stand for up to 4-8 hours during a shift
- Arrive on time for each shift
- Consistently demonstrate satisfactory job performance
- Follow instructions and guidance from supervisors
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be eligible to work in the United States (valid identity and work eligibility documents required)
- Must become a University of Maryland employee
- Previous customer service experience is a plus, but not required
Availability
While we accept applications year-round, our primary hiring periods occur at the start of summer and the beginning of January.
