COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Redshirt junior Kiara Leslie of the Maryland women's basketball team will graduate this summer and will finish her final two years of eligibility at North Carolina State. Leslie, a Raleigh-area native, will return closer to home after earning her degree in criminology and criminal justice in three years.
“We would like to thank Kiara for her three years of hard work she put into our program and our success,” head coach Brenda Frese said. “We wish her success as she heads home and closer to her family.”
Leslie played the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons for the Terrapins. She averaged 4.0 points, 2.8 rebounds in 67 games played. She redshirted the 2016-17 season with an injury.
“In my time at Maryland, I experienced an array of things that I am thankful for,” Leslie said. “I was fortunate to be a part of a winning culture where I experienced winning multiple championships, traveling abroad and going to the Final Four. Those are things that I will remember forever. I am thankful for the opportunity I received at Maryland and I am excited for my next chapter coming home.”
