This season, Maryland Athletics will release limited edition Terrapin Cutouts available for purchase for the 2020 Maryland Football season. For as low as $55, you can send us an image of yourself, your friend, relative, or even a pet showing their Maryland pride, and be a part of gameday at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium!

By purchasing a Terrapin Cutout, you will help offset some of the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Proceeds from Terrapin Cutouts will help to fund increased operational expenses, including regular COVID-19 testing and other special health services like ECGs and cardiac MRIs, mental health services, technology support for virtual classes and tutoring, and enhanced safety measures implemented for strength and conditioning.

All orders placed and approved on or before Monday, Oct. 19 will be installed in Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium prior to Maryland Football’s game vs. Minnesota on Oct. 31.

What is the difference between a standard and a premium cutout?
A premium cutout ($75) includes priority placement in the stands and will be signed by Coach Locksley prior to return at the end of the season. A standard cutout ($55) does not include priority seating or an autograph.
I’m a Terrapin Club donor - do I receive a discount on my cutout?
Yes! All Terrapin Club donors received an email with a special link for discounted Terrapin Cutouts. Please purchase your cutout through that link to receive the discounted rate.
I just purchased my Terrapin Cutout. When should I expect to receive the email with the link to submit my photo?
Fans will first receive a confirmation email directly after purchase, and then they will receive a separate email at 9:00 AM ET the day after purchase with a link to the photo submission form. Please note that your confirmation email is not the email that will contain the photo submission form link, but it does include an Order ID that is needed to submit your photo later. If you do not receive the email the following day, please check your spam folder as well as all pre-categorized folders (Gmail users, please make sure to check the “Promotions” folder). If your email is still not there after 24 hours, please reach out to mdsportsmarketing@umd.edu, and we will be happy to help you out.
Can I place more than one order for a Terrapin Cutout?
Yes! You may place more than one order for a Terrapin Cutout. If you would like to order multiple cutouts, Maryland Athletics recommends that you order them at the same time. However, you can place as many separate orders as you’d like.
How many cutouts can I purchase in one single transaction?
You may purchase up to four cutouts per transaction. After that, you will need to place an additional, separate order.
Does my purchase cover the whole season or one game?
Terrapin Cutouts will remain in the stands for the entire football season.
Are there any restrictions to the photo I upload?
Yes. Photos must be Maryland-related, in good taste and not of a commercial nature. Fans may not submit photos of celebrities or other public figures. Maryland Athletics reserves the right to reject any photo that does not abide by the photo submission guidelines, at its sole discretion. Fans will be notified if their photo is rejected and given an opportunity to resubmit if there is appropriate time prior to the deadline, but Maryland Athletics will not be obligated to provide the purchaser a refund if a submitted photo is rejected for any reason.
Can two people be in one photo?
Only 1 person per photo. Photos with multiple people will be rejected.
I’m trying to complete the photo upload form, but I cannot find my customer number. Where can I find this information?
Fans can find their customer number on the confirmation email they receive directly after purchase.
I uploaded the wrong photo, can I upload a new one?
No; please ensure that the photo you upload not only meets all of our guidelines, but that it is also the photo you will be happy with all season long. The only instance that you will be able to resubmit a photo is if Maryland Athletics reaches out to you directly due to issues with your initial submission.
Will I be refunded if my photo is not approved?
We will do our best to ensure you are given the opportunity to submit a new photo if your initial submission is rejected, but we cannot guarantee you will receive a refund should your photo be rejected.
Will I know where my cutout is placed?
Yes! Prior to the first home game, Maryland Athletics will upload photos of cutouts to Facebook. The photos will be broken down by section. We cannot accommodate specific seat requests.
If I purchase more than one cutout will they be placed next to each other?
While we cannot guarantee exact locations, we will do our best to seat multiple submissions together.
If I miss the Monday, Oct. 19 deadline, can I still order a Terrapin Cutout?
Yes, all fans will be able to continue to place orders past Oct. 19; Maryland Athletics simply cannot guarantee that your cutout will be installed by the first home football game if it is ordered past this date.
  • Oct. 19 - Submission deadline for Oct. 30 game (Minnesota)
  • Nov. 2 - Submission deadline for Nov. 14 game (Ohio State)
  • Nov. 9 - Submission deadline for Nov. 21 game (Michigan State)
  • Nov. 30 - Submission deadline for Dec. 12 game (Rutgers)
Can I have my cutout at the end of the season?
Yes! You will have an option to receive your cutout after the season has concluded. Please note, we cannot guarantee the condition of your cutout after exposure to weather and outdoor elements. You will be contacted at the email address provided when uploading your photo. Cutouts will only be available for pickup; no cutouts will be mailed or delivered. At that time, further details for pickup and specific instructions will be communicated to fans who purchased cutouts.

If you ordered a premium cutout, it will be signed by Coach Locksley prior to being available for pickup.
What if the season gets canceled?
All payments made to purchase cutouts are final and such payments shall not be refunded for any reason, including, but not limited to, the delay, suspension, cancellation, or early termination of the 2020 season.
