Tyler Cronin returned to the University of Maryland in January 2020 in a full time capacity, after his role as Resident Athletic Trainer from 2016-18. Prior to his return to College Park, Tyler worked as Assistant Athletic Trainer with the Sam Houston State baseball team in Huntsville, Texas. Tyler is in charge of the day-to-day medical care for all Maryland baseball student-athletes. 

Tyler received his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training in 2014 from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. During his time in Holland, Tyler was involved in a variety of on and off-campus clinical rotations, including a summer internship through PBATS with the Detroit Tigers.

After his time in Holland, Tyler received his Master’s of Kinesiology degree from the University of Michigan where he worked as a Graduate Assistant athletic trainer with the football team. He presented his clinical capstone project titled “Peroneus Quartus: Clinical Applications and a Case Study” at the National Athletic Trainers’ Association conference in Baltimore in 2016. 

Tyler has been a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association since 2010 and holds a variety of certifications including Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) from NASM, Graston Technique GTS, Gray Institute 3D MAPS, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer through the American Red Cross. 

A native of Livonia, MI, Tyler and his wife Amber live in Laurel with their son Cooper and dog Reagan.
