Will Franco joined the University of Maryland in August 2017 as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach and is responsible for Baseball and Field Hockey. In addition to directing his teams Will is the Strength and Conditioning Internship Coordinator for Olympic Sports.
During his time at Maryland, Franco has trained multiple MLB Draft picks and All-Americans. With Field Hockey, he has been a part of two Final Four appearances (2017, 2018) and a Big Ten Championship (2018).
Before arriving in College Park, Franco was an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at the College of the Holy Cross working primarily with Baseball, Men’s Lacrosse, Women’s Volleyball, Field Hockey, Swimming and Diving, and assisting with Football. Franco was also a Graduate Fellow at Merrimack College. There he worked with Baseball Pitchers and Women’s Lacrosse. He has interned at the University of Massachusetts Amherst working with Football and Baseball, and interned at the College of the Holy Cross working at Jeff Oliver’s Be Athletic Jacked on the Hill Program.
Franco is Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association as well as RPR-Level 1 certified.
Franco, a native of Worcester, Mass., received his Masters of Science in Exercise and Sport Science at Merrimack College in 2016. He received his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2015.
