Before Maryland: A consensus 3-star prospect according to all major recruiting databases … 2016 American Family Insurance/USA Today All-USA North Carolina First Team … two-time Greensboro News & Record HSXtra First-Team All-Area selection and one-time honorable mention selection … selected for the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas … All-Metro 4-A Conference … rushed for 1,679 yards on 216 carries despite missing two games due to injury as a senior … also caught 16 passes for 114 yards and played defensive back … helped the Pirates to a 14-2 record and an appearance in the Class 4-A title game … rushed 277 times for 2,048 yards and 30 touchdowns as a junior … also caught 21 passes for 356 yards and four touchdowns … helped lead Page to the 4-A title game … also received offers from Louisville, South Carolina, UNC, Tennessee and Virginia Tech … coached by Kevin Gillespie.
