Alex Howarth joined the Maryland football staff in the Summer of 2025 and serves as Assistant Football Video Coordinator.
Howarth arrived in College Park after a season at SMU, where he served as the Graduate Assistant for Football Video Services. He helped lead the Mustangs to an 11-3 record, ACC Championship Appearance, as well as a CFP Appearance.
Prior to SMU, he spent the 2023 season as the Graduate Assistant for Football Video Operations at Northern Illinois University, where he helped the Huskies win the 2023 Camellia Bowl over Arkansas State. Howarth completed his Master's in Sport Management in December 2024 at NIU.
Prior to that, he served as the Special Teams Graduate Assistant at Ouachita Baptist University for the Spring of 2023.
A graduate of Mississippi College, Howarth earned his Undergraduate degree in Kinesiology in December of 2022, while serving as a Student Assistant for the football program for four seasons.
