Ben Kessler joined the Maryland athletics media relations staff in February of 2018 as a Media Relations Assistant, and was elevated to Assistant Media Relations Director in July of 2019.

Kessler is currently the primary contact for the NCAA national champion women's lacrosse program and the secondary contact for the football program. The New Jersey native has also worked with the volleyball, softball and women's basketball programs. 

In 2017, Kessler worked for the New York Jets as a communications assistant after interning with the NFL team for training camp of the 2016 season. He also assisted in the media efforts for Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis in February of 2018. 

Kessler graduated from the University of Maryland in 2017 with a degree in broadcast journalism, interning in the media relations office from 2014 until the time he graduated.
