Jonnae Usher joined the University of Maryland Sports Medicine staff in August 2024 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer working with the Terrapins football program.
Prior to coming to College Park, Jonnae spent time at Georgetown University working with the Hoyas Football and Women’s Lacrosse program. She also worked one year as an athletic trainer intern with Michigan State University Football.
In 2022, Jonnae graduated from the University of Virginia with a Master of Science in Athletic Training. As a graduate student, Jonnae worked with the University of Georgia football program.
In 2021, Jonnae received her B.S.Ed of Kinesiology from the University of Virginia. During her four years at the University of Virginia, Jonnae worked closely with the Cavaliers’ football, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, women’s basketball, tennis, and swim & dive programs.
Jonnae is a certified Corrective Exercise Specialist, Functional Range Assessment/Conditioning Specialist and Mental Health First Aider. Jonnae is also a CPR/First Aid instructor. Her professional interests include osteopathic manipulative medicine. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association.
Jonnae is from King George, VA and currently resides in Alexandria, VA. She enjoys reading, traveling, snowboarding, and spending time with her two dogs.
