The Breakdown: A steady presence, Brett St. Martin finished his Maryland career as a two-time All-Big Ten selection and two-time team captain. St. Martin took control of the Terps' right center back position for departed All-American Donovan Pines and had a breakout second season in 2019 before being the anchor of the Terps backline in his final two seasons. The Baltimore area native also contributed admirably as a spot duty right back on Maryland's national title team. 

As a Senior (2021-22): All-Big Ten First Team...United Soccer Coaches All-North Region Second Team...Team Captain...started all 17 matches he played...had a single assist...played 1,557 minutes, the second most on the squad...helped the Terps allow just 14 goals in 18 matches...helped the Terps log eight shutouts...notched his lone assist of the season against UMBC (8/29). 

As a Junior (2020-21): Second Team All-Big Ten...Team Captain...Started all 11 matches at centerback...played 1,030 minutes, which was every minute of the season...an Academic All-Big Ten selection...helped the Terps to a shutout win over Wisconsin (3/7). 

As a Sophomore (2019): Played in all 21 matches and started 20...played 1,798 minutes...scored a goal and had an assist...had 11 shots...helped the Terps secure 11 clean sheets throughout the course of the season...played every minute in 17 of his appearances...scored an overtime winner in the 108th minute to beat St. John's (9/23)...notched an assist against Rutgers (10/02)...the only match of the Terps' season he did not start was at home against Northwestern on 9/20, but he ended up appearing for 72 minutes...started and appeared for just 12 minutes before leaving with an injury against Iona in the first round of the NCAA Tournament (11/21)...started and played 31 minutes before departing due to injury at Wake Forest in the second round of the NCAA Tournament (11/24). 

As a Freshman (2018): Played in 12 matches and started seven in Maryland's National Championship season...played 779 minutes and scored one goal from the right back/center back positions...notched seven shots...made his Maryland debut at Washington in the season opener, playing 33 minutes (8/24)...came on and played 22 minutes against Stanford (8/31)...checked in off the bench and played 20 minutes against UCLA (8/31)...made his first career start against West Virginia and played all 90 minutes (9/10)...made six consecutive starts at Indiana (10/12), vs. Denver (10/16), vs. Ohio State (10/19), vs. Penn State (10/23), at Michigan (10/28) and vs. Indiana (11/9) in the Big Ten Tournament...scored his first career goal at Michigan. 

Before Maryland: Starred for Mount St. Joseph…played for his father Michael St. Martin for the Gaels…two-time all-state and All-MIAA selection…named to the Adidas All-American game in 2017…two-time Baltimore Sun All-Metro selection…named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Regional Team in 2017…played club for Baltimore Celtic…2016 State Cup Champion…2017 Regional Champion. 2018 State Cup Champion, Regional Champion, and won the prestigious Maguire Cup U19 National Championship, and Voted to best XI tournament team 2018.

Personal: Son of Michael and Lara St. Martin... Sister Brooke was a three time American East Championship swimmer at UMBC. Younger brother Brian (2022)
