• Chris Rindov’s Road to Maryland Men’s Socer was uncertain. But he always had Rubix Cubes

The Breakdown: A dependable option at center back, Chris Rindov has gone from true walk on to starter to captain. The local product started the last 48 games of his career at left center back for the Terps. Naturally right-footed, he can play both center back spots and played right back early in his career. Rindov also excels in the air, which allows him to dominate on long balls and on crosses into the box. He’s also a threat on set pieces.

As a Senior (2022):

• Started all 20 matches and played every minutes of the season. 
• Scored two goals and notched an assist. 
• Started and played 90 minutes against No. 9 New Hampshire (8/25).
• Started and played 90 minutes against Liberty (8/28).
• Started and played 90 minutes against Denver (9/2).
• Started and played 90 minutes and scored against Virginia (9/5).
• Started and played 90 minutes at No. 21 Georgetown (9/10).
• Started, played 90 minutes and scored at Michigan (9/16).

As a Junior (2021):

• Academic All-Big Ten selection. 
• Started all 18 matches and led the team with 1,667 minutes.
• Played in all but four minutes of the season.
• Scored two goals and had two assists.
• Helped the Terps record eight clean sheets.
• Notched an assist against UMBC (8/29).
• Scored his first career goal against George Mason (9/3).
• Notched an assist against Virginia (9/6).
• Scored a goal against Pacific (10/16).

As a Sophomore (2020):

• Played in 10 matches and started nine.
• Played 916 minutes.
• Notched one assist.
• Academic All-Big Ten selection.

As a Freshman (2019):

• Appeared in nine matches as a reserve defensive option for the Terps.
• Notched one assist.
• Made his Maryland debut with 20 minutes at UCLA (9/6).
• Recorded his first career assist against Rutgers (10/2).
• Played a season-high 78 minutes against Iona in the first round of the NCAA Tournament (11/21).
• Appeared for 59 minutes against Wake Forest in the second round of the NCAA Tournament (11/24).

Before Maryland:

• Played at Rockville High School.
• Scored five goals and notched an assist during his senior season.
• Named a Washington Post All-Metro Honorable Mention selection.
• First-team All-Montgomery County selection.
• Also played volleyball and was a second-team All-MoCo selection and team MVP.
• Played club soccer for OBGC under head coach Pete Wood.
• Won four Maryland State Championships (16-19).
• Helped OBGC win an eastern regional title in 2018.
• Went to national championships twice and was named to the Best XI in 2019.

Personal:

• Majoring in engineering.
• Came to Maryland for the great soccer and engineering programs.
• Walked onto the team during the summer of 2019.
