University of Maryland Athletics

Preston Shytle joined the University of Maryland in 2011.  Preston spent the previous two years as Director of Development/ Major Gifts.  His primary roles were major gifts, premium seat sales, and sport specific funding for football and the golf teams.  Preston has been responsible for increased premium seating sales and gifts to the Terrapin Club Scholarship Fund in each of his two years, while also building a base of outstanding relationships with numerous donors and prospects.

Prior to joining the Terrapin Club Scholarship Fund, Preston served as the General Manager at The Aspire Group where helped build the outbound ticket sales/ service department at Maryland.  He also helped build the first remote partnerships with the company at The University of Colorado and University at Buffalo.  Preston was the first employee of the company and lead salesman at Georgia Tech.  His first job in the sports industry was in the NBA with the Charlotte Bobcats as a group sales intern.

Preston is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he double majored in Marketing & Management.  An Asheville, NC area native, Preston currently resides in Rockville, MD.
