As a freshman (2016): Saw action in all 23 games and started in 12...picked up first career assist in Terps' game win over California (Sept. 10)...assisted on Terps' first goal in 2-1 win over #1 Connecticut (Oct. 23)...assists on Maryland's first goal vs. #12 Northwestern in Big Ten Semifinals (Nov. 4)...named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad...part of team that won third straight Big Ten regular season title.

Before Maryland: Captain of the Gooische Hockey Club Under-18 Team...has played at Gooische since 2005...has also played for her school team the last few years and helped win regional competition.

Personal: Parents are Annekarien and Ewout van Asbeck...has two siblings, Sabine and Rutger...both parents played field hockey in the Netherlands...father was on the Dutch national team for six years as a defender...he played in the European and World Championships, as well as the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics..has dual citizenship because she was born in Greenwich, Conn...was a member of her school's dance team...chose Maryland because of the coaches and the team..."The coaches create a professional, hardworking but also fun and positive atmosphere...I felt that Maryland was the best fit for me."
