Biography

AS A SENIOR (2017): Started in 37 games...accumulated 295 putouts as the team’s primary first baseman...flied out to centerfield for a SAC fly to produce RBI in win against Florida (2/18)...went 2-for-4 with 2 singles and an RBI in 3-0 win over Bowling Green (2/24)...went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 RBIs against Bradley (2/25)...had her first collegiate (two-run) home run in the team’s final series against Wisconsin (5/6).  

AS A JUNIOR (2016): Appeared in 42 games...was the teams primary first baseman, starting 28 out of the 52 games at first base, also started one game (Monmouth 3/5) in right field...hit at a .211 clip with a .333 on base percentage...drew the most walks per plate appearance on the team (13)...recorded first hit of the year with a clutch pinch hit single and scored winning run as part of a Maryland seventh inning comeback against Mercer (2/20)...drew walks in consecutive pinch hit appearances against Boston and Columbia (2/26)...knocked RBI double in lone outfield start of the year against Monmouth (3/5)...put through pinch hit single against Binghamton (3/20)...improved batting average .88 points over the last 17 games of the season by batting .289 while starting each game but two at first base starting off with a 2-for-2 performance in a 6-3 win over St. Francis (4/5) that included a RBI double and a walk...picked up one hit in each game of the Michigan State series (4/8-10)...reached base twice against No. 2 Michigan (4/24)...slammed a RBI double in the middle game of a series at No. 24 Minnesota (4/30)...had a strong final series against Indiana (5/7), going 2-for-5 with two RBIs, a double, and a walk. 

Before Maryland: Appeared in five games for NC State…four-year varsity starter at St. Mary’s Ryken…named first team all-county and all-conference as a senior…Washington Post All-Metropolitan Team… led team in batting average her junior year…played club softball for the Shamrocks and the Bayside Blues

Personal: Jordan Aughinbaugh…daughter of Michelle and Rob Aughinbaugh…dad played football at the University of Delaware…sibling of Madison and Trent…sports hero is Michael Jordan…chose Maryland because of the great academics and the chance to be part of a great program close to home…worked on increasing power during offseason...played two seasons at North Carolina State University…advice to young players is, "hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard"...government and politics major…intends on being a lobbyist or lawyer.
