Biography

Junior (2019)

  • Started 50 games in the outfield, primarily right field
  • Led the team and the Big Ten with 15 sacrifice hitsĀ 
  • Went 5-11 in a three-game stretch vs. Nevada, Portland State and UC Riverside (Feb. 17-22)
  • Recorded her 100th career hit vs. North Carolina (March 2)
  • Went 3-4 against UNC Greensboro with a double, two runs scored, an RBI and two stolen bases (March 3)
  • Went 6-14 at the Maryland Invitational with four runs scored, three RBI, a double and a triple (March 14-16)
  • Went 5-10 in series against Michigan State with two runs scored, a double and an RBI (April 5-7)
  • Went 3-3 at the plate with two sacrifice bunts and two runs scored in series-opener against Michigan State (April 5)
  • Had two hits and a double in win over Indiana (April 13)
  • Went 3-6 in doubleheader at Rutgers with two runs scored and a double (April 23)
  • Made two highlight-reel diving catches in right field on back-to-back days at Nebraska, earning the Big Ten’s top two plays of the week (April 27 & 28)
  • Went 4-9 in the final series of the season vs. Michigan (May 3-5)

Sophomore (2018)Ā 

  • Appeared in 54 games and started in all 54
  • Ranked first on team in triples (2) and sac bunts (9), third on team in hits (37) and total bases (46), tied for third on the team in runs scored (17), fourth on team in total plate appearances (165), fifth in team in RBIs (12)
  • Went 1-for-4 and scored a run in the fourth game of the UCLA tournament against Cal Poly (2/10)
  • Went 8-for-13 in Louisville Invitational (3/2-4)
  • Went 2-for-3 with two RBIs in win against Eastern Illinois (3/3)
  • Went 2-for-3 and had an RBI to finish off the weekend against Miami (OH) (3/4)
  • Went 2-for-3 and scored two runs starting a three game run streak against Hawaii (3/18) in last game of Hawaii Tournament
  • Started off Big Ten play 2-for-6 scoring two runs and her fourth RBI first two games at Penn State (3/24)
  • Went 1-for-1 scoring a run in second game of series at Illinois (2/7)
  • Went 1-for-3 starting a six game hit streak and scoring a run in the next five of six games against Saint Francis (PA) (4/11)
  • Went 2-for-4 scoring 2 runs two RBIs and a triple in second game at Ohio State (4/28)
  • Went 2-for-2 with a double and scored a run in last regular season game against Michigan State (5/5).

Freshman (2017)

  • Started all 51 games in the outfield
  • Ranked first on the team in batting average (.304), hits (52), sac bunts (6), at bats (171), and total plate appearances (184)
  • Finished with 15 multi-hit games
  • Went 3-for-3 against Minnesota (2/10)
  • Tallied four hits and scored twice at Aquafina Invitational (2/17-18)
  • Went 3-for-5 in win against Bowling Green (2/24)
  • Carried nine-game hit streak from March 5-19
  • Posted three hits and scored twice against Penn State (4/30).

Before Maryland: Team captain at Chino High School...Four-time first team all-league selection...batted .400 as a senior... 2014 league offensive player of the year...helped team win 2013 California State Championship and three league titles...two-year captain...played club for Firecrackers, posting four top-five national finishes with a national championship in 2011...coached by Mike Smith and Sean Brashear.

Personal: Daughter of Sean and Diana Brashear...has older sister Vanessa...lists sports hero as Calvin Johnson...plans on majoring in communication.Ā
