As a Senior (2020-21): Did not compete.

As a Redshirt Sophmore (2019-20): Wrestled in open competition at 141 pounds, earning a 4-5 record...debuted at the Southeast Open and earned a win over Virginia’s Scotty Kiyono (11/3)...beat Sacred Heart’s Will Bianchi, Princeton’s John Goettee, Harvard’s Robert Groves, and Sacred Heart’s Gerard Daly at the Franklin & Marshall Open (1/4)

As a Sophomore (2018-19): Won four matches while wrestling in open competition...posted a 17-2 technical fall victory over Rider's Sam Mandelbraut at Patriot Open for first Division I victory (12/9)...won two matches by bonus points at Messiah Open, including first-career fall over Liberty's Keonte Davis (2/2)...won in sudden victory over F&M's Haroldo Nesbeth at National Collegiate Open (3/2). 

As a Freshman (SUNY Oswego): Picked up five victories in his freshman campaign...ECWC All-Academic honors. 

Before Maryland: Wrestled at Monroe Woodbury High School...2016 & 2017 Ridgefield Challenge finalist...2016 Massapequa Christmas Wrestling Tournament finalist...finished third at the 2016 NY Greco Roman states...2016 Fargo Junior Men's Team member...finished fourth at the 2017 Section 9 tournament. 

Personal: Son of Tony and Mary Sountis...nickname is cowboy...sports hero is Conor McGregor...came to Maryland because of the coaching staff and academics...hobbies include fishing...pregame meal is peanut butter and jelly sandwich with gatorade...plans to be an orthopedic doctor after college...always puts his right shoe on first...advice to youngsters is to always work hard.
