Sara Burkhart joined the GSAC Staff as an Assistant Learning Specialist in June 2024. She graduated from the University of Maryland in May 2022 with two undergraduate Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Kinesiology. During her time at UMD, she was very involved on campus as a TA, a part of the Women’s Club Soccer team, and in the Delta Gamma Sorority. She was also able to work in Silver Spring, MD as a Fitness Instructor for local middle schoolers and a Physical Therapy Aide for the general population.

In May 2024, she graduated from Long Beach State in California with a Master of Science in Sport and Exercise Psychology. In California, she was the GA of her cohort and a Graduate Teaching Associate where she taught general activity courses such as Fitness Walking and Stretch and Relaxation. Also, she was a Mental Performance Consultant in training where she worked with several high school, college, and pro-level athletes to help improve their performance by implementing mental skills.

Sara is a native of Fairfield, Connecticut and is the daughter of Paula and Kyle Burkhart. She has an older brother, Zach, and their family has a new black lab dog. In her free time, Sara enjoys traveling, trying new food places, and still playing soccer. She loves the New York Yankees and Giants but will occasionally cheer for the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens!
