COLLEGE PARK, MD. - Dorrette Burwell smashed a match-high 16 kills, and Jill Sonne and Ashley Harris each chipped in 15 kills, leading Duke (9-9, 3-6 ACC) to a 15-10, 2-15, 15-3, 15-6 win over Maryland (10-13, 3-6 ACC) in volleyball action Tuesday night at Ritchie Coliseum.

The Terps jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first game but Duke went on a 15-6 run to seal the win 15-10. Maryland struck back, scoring the final 12 points of the second game to even the match with a 15-2 win.

The Blue Devils were in complete control of the third game, going on an 11-1 tear on their way to a 15-3 win. In the fourth and final game, Duke broke open a 10-6 game by scoring the final five points to close out the match with a 15-6 victory.

For Maryland, Nnenna Amboi led the way with 14 kills. Kate Hannas added 11 kills and Beth Murphy had 10. Libby Alberts dished out 40 assists.

Maryland faces Wake Forest on Friday at Ritchie Coliseum at 7 p.m.
