TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Sophomore outside hitter Carey Brennan (Smithsburg, Md.) smacked a match-high 15 kills but it was not enough as the University of Maryland women's volleyball team lost to Florida State (0-3), 10-15, 12-15, 3-15, Sunday afternoon in Tallahassee, Fla.

Senior middle hitter Maren Stuart (Tampa, Fla.) returned to her home state with nine kills, six blocks and three digs on the day. Sophomore setter Lindsay Davey (Aurora, Colo.) turned in 42 assists in the loss for Maryland.

Maryland falls to 13-11 on the season and 4-8 in the ACC. Florida State improves to 17-9 overall and 6-6 in the conference.

The Terrapins are back in action this weekend with its final two home matches of the year. Friday, Nov. 3, Maryland will face ACC leader Georgia Tech at 7:00 p.m. The Terps close out the 2000 home schedule on Saturday, Nov. 4, versus Clemson on Senior Day at Ritchie Coliseum. The match is set to begin at 5:00 p.m.
