COLLEGE PARK, Md.- Sophomore setter Lindsay Davey (Aurora, Colo.) recorded a match-high 56 assists and had 12 digs as the University of Maryland captured their first ACC win of the season defeating Florida State (3-2) 6-15, 15-6, 15-13, 12-15, 15-13 Friday evening at Ritchie Coliseum.

"That was a really big win," said coach Janice Kruger. "It was so critical that as a team we could bounce back from a tough loss Tuesday to Wake Forest and come back tonight and pick up our first conference win of the season."

Sophomore outside hitter Carey Brennan (Smithburg, Md.) paced the Maryland attack with a team-high 21 kills to lead the Terps to a thrilling five-game victory. After splitting the first four games, Maryland rallied from two down in the final game to win the match.

Senior middle hitter Maren Stuart (Tampa, Fla.) chipped in with 15 kills and five blocks for the winners. Fellow senior Nnenna Amobi (Silver Spring, Md.) was the third Terrapin in double-figures in kills with 12. As a team, Maryland served up 12 aces in the win.

With the victory, the Terrapins improve to 9-5 on the season and 1-1 in the ACC. The Seminoles fall to 11-3, 1-1 in the conference.
