CLEMSON, S.C.- Sophomore outside hitter Carey Brennan (Smithburg, Md.) pounded a match-high 18 kills, but it was not enough as the University of Maryland women's volleyball team lost to Clemson (0-3) 11-15, 6-15, 8-15 Friday night in ACC action in Clemson, S.C.
The Terps, looking for win number 700 as a program, never got on track and lost in three games. Sophomore setter Lindsay Davey (Aurora, Colo.) paced the Terrapin attack with a team-high 41 assists and 16 digs. Senior middle hitter Nnenna Amobi (Silver Spring, Md.) contributed eight kills and four blocks for the visitors.
With the loss, Maryland falls to 9-6 on the season and 1-3 in the ACC. Clemson improves to 7-8 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
The Terps are back in action Saturday, Sept. 30, when they travel to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
