Volleyball Team Defeats Binghamton At The Columbia/LIU Invitational

New York, N.Y.- Sophomore Lindsay Davey (Aurora, Colo.) dished out 24 assists as the University of Maryland women's volleyball team recorded its first victory of the season Friday night 15-8, 15-6, 15-6 over Binghamton University at the Columbia/LIU Invitational in New York City.

Leading the attack for Maryland was outside hitter Carey Brennan (Smithburg, Md.). The sophomore smacked a team-high ten kills and also registered 9 digs on the night. Senior Nnenna Amobi (Silver Spring, Md.) chipped in with nine kills and freshman Maria DiLivio (Hamilton, Ontario) had a career-high six kills as the Terps rolled to a three-game win.

Maryland improves to 1-3 on the season while Binghamton falls to 4-3. The Terps will look to continue their winning ways as they take on Columbia later tonight in the second match of the day for both schools.
