CLEMSON, S.C.- The Maryland volleyball team used a well-balanced attack to sweep host Clemson, (3-0) 30-27, 30-24, 30-21, Saturday evening in Clemson, S.C. The Terrapins evened their overall record at 8-8 with the victory and 4-4 in the ACC while Clemson dropped to 6-10 on the season and 2-6 in conference play.

The four ACC wins on the year for the Terps tie the four ACC victories the team had all of last season.

Three Maryland players finished with double-digit kills, led by sophomore right side Lynnsy Jones (Castro Valley, Calif.). Jones finished with a match-high 14 kills and chipped in with five digs to lead the Terps to victory.

Joining Jones in the double-digit kill club were senior middle hitter Willette Dority (Congers, N.Y.) and junior outside hitter Carey Brennan (Smithsburg, Md.). Dority, who leads the ACC in hitting percentage, smacked 12 kills and recorded a match-best .476 hitting percentage while Brennan totaled 10 kills and five digs for the winners.

Junior setter Lindsay Davey (Aurora, Colo.) handed out a match-best 45 assists to help guide the Terrapins to victory.

Junior middle hitter Amanda Ayres (Chesapeake Beach, Md.) tallied a match-best 11 digs to pace the Maryland defense while freshman middle hitter Alexandra Toregas (Chevy Chase, Md.) provided a spark off the bench, finishing the match with a career-high six kills for the winners.

The Terps return to action Tuesday (Oct. 16) at home vs. NC State. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m. in Ritchie Coliseum.
