Greenville, N.C. -- The final round of the Bradford Creek Invitational was cancelled Tuesday March 6th, due to frigid winds and temperatures in the low 30's. The Maryland women's golf team concludes the tournament with a seventh-place overall finish after two rounds.
The Terps shot rounds of 322 in both previous rounds and finished the tournament with a combined-total of 644. Terps' 36-hole score was good for a seventh place finish and was 24 strokes out of first. Freshman Marie Harper (West Point, Va.) led all Terps during the two day competition. She carded a two-round total of 158 with rounds of 78 and 80 respectively. Harper finished the tournament tied in nineteenth place individually. She was only Terp placed in the top-25 individually.
Colorado State carded a 319 through the second round and was crowned winner of the tournament with a total of 620 (301-319) on the par-72, 6,093-yard Bradford Creek Golf Course. UNC-Wilmington follows in close second with a two-round total of 626 (315-311) while James Madison University stands in third with a two-round total of 627 (314-313).
The Terps will next be in action on March 25 - 27, at the UNCW Lady Seahawk Invitational hosted by UNC Wilmington in Wallace, N.C. at the River Landing Country Club.
