COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Sophomore running back Bruce Perry, who spent his first two seasons as a Terp in the shadows of former Maryland All-American LaMont Jordan, has used the first part of the 2001 season to make his own mark.

In a big way.

Perry, who rushed for 276 yards in last weekend's road victory at Wake Forest, has moved to the top of the NCAA rushing charts, averaging a whopping 175 yards per game. He has been over 100 yards rushing in each game this season -- in fact, over 100 yards in the first half of each game this season.
