University of Maryland shot rounds of 297 and 287 for an eight-over-par total of 584 and is in 15th place after 36 holes of the Baylor Invitational here Monday.
The Terps, part of a 16-team field competing at the 7,181-yard Bear Ridge Golf Course layout, close out the fall portion of their campaign Tuesday when the final 18 holes of the tournament are conducted.
Host Baylor is in first place with a 17-under total of 559 after firing rounds of 277 and 282. Lamar (563) and SMU (563) are tied for third and Louisville (566) is in fourth.
The Terps, who are playing without their top performer, Tim Kane, who is sidelined with mono, were led by senior co-captain John Moheyer, who is in 11th place with a four-under score of 140. Moheyer shot rounds of 71 and 69 on the par-72 course and is seven shots in back of individual leader Brock Mulder of SMU, who came in at 133.
Following Moheyer are true freshman John Eades (T-54th, 147), junior Dan MacDonald (T58th, 148), freshman Jeff Spradlin (T-65th, 149) and sophomore Bobby MacWhinnie (84th, 160).
