Terrapin fans from Maryland to Munich can catch up on all of the Terrapin field hockey news live on the Internet every alternate Thursday afternoon. The second edition of the Missy Meharg Radio Show aired at 5:15 p.m. EST on Thursday, Sept. 26, at www.wmucsports.com, home of the University of Maryland's sports-only radio station.
Join WMUC's finest, Danny Cole and Robin Lundebergh, as they break down the field hockey action with four time ACC and national coach of the year Meharg. Thursday's special guest was senior midfielder Kateri Simon (Fallston, Md.).
Missy Meharg is Maryland's all-time winningest field hockey coach and the mentor of two national championship squads and five conference title-winning teams. She has coached 57 All-Americans, 82 NFHCA Academic Squad selections, 11 U.S. National Team members and one Honda Award winner. Meharg is a member of the State and University Sports Halls of Fame in her home state of Delaware.
Kateri Simon is one of three seniors on the 2002 Terrapin field hockey squad. The 2001 NFHCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region selection has been one of the Terps' steadiest and most versatile performers, and her seven assists lead the team this year. Simon is in her second season as co-author of Maryland field hockey's player journal, titled "Inside the Circle."
