COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maria DiLivio, Lynnsy Jones and Aimee Huddleston registered double-doubles and Fiona DeFreitas had 23 digs, but the University of Maryland volleyball team was defeated by Clemson in five games (30-18, 23-30, 35-33, 27-30, 15-13) Friday night in Comcast Center Gymnasium. The Terrapins are now 20-5 (9-2 ACC) for the year, while Clemson is now 15-12 (4-7 ACC).

DiLivio had 20 kills and 20 digs for a double-double, while Jones posted 19 kills and 10 digs. DiLivio, who led the team with a .364 attack percentage, added two block assists and Jones recorded two service aces.

Aimee Huddleston dished out a season-high 62 assists to go with 12 digs, five kills and five blocks, and Stephanie Smith had 15 kills (.333) and four blocks.

The Terrapins fell behind early, dropping the first game, 30-18, but came back strong to take the second game by a score of 30-23. The third game was a closely fought battle, but Clemson finished on the winning end of a 35-33 decision to take a 2-1 lead. Maryland came back to win game four, 30-27, but could not clinch the match as Clemson took game five, 15-13.

Leslie Finn blasted a match-high 31 kills to lead the Tigers, while Liz Beckham notched 25 kills and 25 digs. Stephanie Haskell had 71 assists for Clemson, and Lori Ashton had a match-high seven blocks.

Rachel Wagener was also in double-digits in kills for the Terps. She posted 11 on the night and had five blocks. Sarah Treadwell just missed recording a double-double with nine kills and 16 digs.

The Terrapins square off with No. 4 Georgia Tech Saturday at 7 p.m. in Comcast Center Gymnasium. Admission is free.
