Aug. 10, 2004

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - University of Maryland softball player Lindsay Klein has been selected to the Jewish Sports Review 2004 College Softball All-America Team, the publication announced recently. Klein, a freshman from Orange, Calif., was named to the first team as a designated hitter. She started all 60 games for the Terrapins at first base and batted .276 during her rookie season. Klein also tied for the team-high in home runs (six) and RBI (33). Her RBI mark is also tied for third-best in a single season by a Terrapin. At 1B, Klein's fielding percentage was a stellar .985. Terrapin head coach Gina LaMandre returns next spring for her 11th season in College Park. Maryland will return 11 letterwinners from a team that went 33-27 in 2004.
