Terps Fall To Troy State, 6-2

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The University of Maryland dropped its final game of pool play at the Florida State Invitational, 6-2, to Troy State Saturday afternoon. The Terrapins were led by Crystal Tweedy, who was 2-for-3 at the plate, and Keri Lounge, who notched her fifth RBI of the season.

Crystal Crews was credited with the loss for the Terps and dropped to 0-2 on the season.

Troy State jumped out to a 4-0 lead on two home runs and although the Terps battled back in the bottom of the fifth inning with two runs and in the bottom of the seventh with singles by Lounge and Lindsay Klein, the Trojans were able to win by a final score of 6-2.

Crystal Rizzuto had a single to left field in the bottom of the fourth inning, extending her hit streak to four games. Through four games at the Florida State Invitational, Rizzuto and Tweedy are both hitting a team-high .364.

The Terrapins are back in action at the Florida State Invitational Sunday at 11 a.m.
