BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Maryland softball team's Atlantic Coast Conference opener will come one day sooner than originally scheduled after this weekend's series with Virginia Tech was moved up a day due to the impending rain called for in Sunday's forecast. Tech and Maryland will play the single game of the series at 3 p.m., on Friday afternoon. That game was originally scheduled for Sunday. Saturday's doubleheader is still to be played at noon.

Maryland (10-9) is playing at Radford University this afternoon in a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
