TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - In the series finale at JoAnne Graf Field, the University of Maryland softball team dropped a 2-0 game to host Florida State Sunday afternoon. The Terps, a day after notching their first win over the Seminoles since the 1999 season, got hits from Lindsay Klein and Crystal Crews and went to 20-14, 4-5 in the ACC.

Florida State (27-18, 8-6 ACC) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a Melissa Wood RBI sacrifice fly and added another run in the third inning on a Kim Hoffer double.

Crystal Crews got the first Terrapin hit of the day and her second of the series, a single up the middle in the third inning. Lindsay Klein singled in the fourth inning but the Terrapins stranded both runners.

Crews, who started in the circle for Maryland, struck out six batters and allowed just three hits and one earned run. She went to 4-4 on the season, while Seminole pitcher Casey Hunter improved to 15-12 and struck out eight in the shutout.

Maryland is back in action when it begins a 12-game homestand at the Terrapin Softball Complex by hosting North Carolina this weekend. The three-game series kicks off with a 1 p.m. Saturday doubleheader.
