COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
Terrapin softball player Lindsay Klein was named a first team All-ACC selection, the conference announced Wednesday. The sophomore first baseman leads Maryland in home runs, hits, doubles and slugging percentage.
Klein has led her team in nearly every offensive category for most of the season and is among the ACC's best with a .338 batting average. For the year, she boasts 31 runs batted in, five home runs and 11 doubles.
In just her second season, Klein has already notched her 100th-career hit and is on Maryland's top 10 lists for home runs and RBI.
She has a team-best 18 extra-base hits on the year and has also shown her defensive excellence, as she maintains a .997 fielding percentage.
It is the first all-conference honor for Klein, the same week she was named ACC Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
