POSITION VACANCY
POSITION TITLE: Assistant Director for Administration and Championships
DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics
CATEGORY: Full-time, Contingent II
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Director for Administration and Championships
will assist the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Administration with managing a number of the day-to-day operations of a NCAA Division I athletic program sponsoring 27 varsity sports. Specific responsibilities in this regard include: serving as the lead for special projects of the Athletics Director, such as the department's annual report to stakeholders; researching, updating and completing the department's various annual reporting requirements, such as student-athlete surveys and gender equity reports; drafting and editing correspondence on behalf of senior athletic staff; assisting with the successful operation of the on-line student ticket distribution process; assisting with game day operations; assisting with special marketing and facilities projects; and performing other duties as assigned. This position will also work closely with the Associate Athletics Director for Varsity Sports regarding Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and NCAA championship events hosted by Maryland each year.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of two (2) years experience in a collegiate athletic office, athletic conference office or similar environment required. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required. Familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills required.
SALARY: High $20,000s; Commensurate with experience.
