Maryland (No. 21 ESPN/USA Today, No. 23 AP) looks to get back to its winning ways at No. 1 Duke on Wednesday in a nationally-televised game on ESPN at 9 p.m. Mike Patrick and Dick Vitale have the call, while Doris Burke will provide courtside commentary. The Terps have won three straight over Duke and five of the last eight meetings. You can also listen to all the action live on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network with Hall of Famer Johnny Holliday and Chris Knoche beginning with The Terps Pregame Show at 8 p.m.

Maryland, which is the only team in the ACC with five players scoring in double figures, is led by senior guard Chris McCray (15.4 ppg) and senior forward Nik Caner-Medley (13.3 ppg), who have combined to play in 209 career games. Junior point guard D.J. Strawberry (10.7 ppg, 4.5 apg) directs the Maryland attack, while junior forward Ekene Ibekwe (12.4 ppg, 6.7 rpg) and senior center Travis Garrison (10.4 ppg, 6.4 rpg) man the paint.

Duke (14-0, 2-0 ACC) is ranked No. 1 in both national polls. The Blue Devils are coming off an 82-64 win at Wake Forest on Sunday night. Senior J.J. Redick (25.8 ppg) leads the ACC in scoring.

Maryland Notables

  • Maryland trails the all-time series with Duke, 98-58, but the Terps have won three straight over the Blue Devils for the first time since 1982. Maryland became the first ACC team in nine years to sweep Duke last season and has won five of the last meetings with the Blue Devils. The Terps are responsible for handing Duke three of its six home losses since the 1999-2000 season, including a 75-66 win over the Blue Devils last year at Cameron Indoor Stadium which halted Duke's 15-0 start and 10-game home win streak.

  • Maryland has nine wins all-time against No. 1 teams, which ranks 3rd among all Division I teams in NCAA history. The Terps have won three of their last four meetings against No. 1 teams, including two of the last three meetings with the top-ranked Blue Devils (2002, 2003). Maryland has faced Duke 11 times when the Blue Devils were ranked No. 1.

  • Duke and Maryland rank 1-2 in ACC wins the last nine years with 121 and 94 victories, respectively. Head coaches Mike Krzyzewski (252) and Gary Williams (140) also rank 1-2 among active ACC coaches in league wins and account for a combined 1,287 career victories and four national championships.

  • Maryland is averaging a league-high 84.1 points per game...Four of Maryland's five starters are shooting better than 50.0% from the floor...The Terps are 8-0 when limiting opponents to less than 70 points...Maryland is 11-1 when attempting more free throws than its opponent.

  • Head coach Gary Williams is the 11th-winningest active coach in NCAA Division I men's basketball with an overall record of 552-309 (.642). With a 345-181 (.656) record at Maryland, he is just four wins shy of becoming Maryland's all-time winningest basketball coach (Charles "Lefty" Driesell, 348-159 from 1969-86).
