COLLEGE PARK, Md. - University of Maryland athletic officials expect a sellout crowd Friday night for its men's and women's soccer doubleheader at Ludwig Field and are encouraging fans to purchase tickets in advance.
The No. 1-ranked men's team hosts 10th-ranked UCLA at 8 p.m. in the second game of the doubleheader. Maryland's No. 25 women's team plays host to Towson at 5 p.m. in the first match up. Both games will be televised nationally by CSTV.
Tickets for the doubleheader are priced at $7 for adults and $4 for youth (17 and under) and seniors, and can be purchased on-line at umterps.com, at the Comcast Center ticket office, or by calling the ticket office toll-free at 1-800-IM-A-TERP. All seating is general admission. A limited number of standing-room-only areas will be available once all permanent seats are occupied.
The largest crowd to ever watch a soccer match at Ludwig Field was 6,203 when the men's team hosted Indiana last season. A 2003 home match against UCLA drew 6,143 fans.
