The University of Maryland (5-2) takes on Virginia Commonwealth (3-3) Sunday (December 2) at Verizon Center in Washington D.C. as part of the 13th Annual BB&T Classic. Tipoff between the Terps and Rams is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on the
Terrapin Sports Radio Network and will be televised by the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN).
The matchup between the Terps and Rams is the third game of a triple-header at Verizon Center. George Washington faces Auburn in the first game, while George Mason takes on East Carolina in the second game.
Sunday's game marks the first meeting between the two schools.
Maryland captured a 69-61 victory over Illinois Wednesday night, while VCU dropped a 64-55 decision to Hampton on Thursday.
The BB&T Classic benefits the Children's Charity Foundation and has generated over $6 million to date. This is the third year of the current format, as the event was originally a four-team tournament from 1995-2004.
The Terps are 13-9 all-time in the BB&T Classic dating back to its inception in 1995.

Sophomore Eric Hayes scored a career-high 18 points as the Terrapins downed Illinois, 69-61, Wednesday night as part of the 2007 Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Terps limited the Illini to just 33 percent shooting (24 of 72) from the floor and enjoyed a 36-16 advantage in points scored in the paint.
Sophomore Braxton Dupree made his second career start and scored 10 points. Dupree was 5 of 7 from the floor and added five rebounds in 18 minutes.
Senior James Gist scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds against the Illini. Gist added two assists and four blocked shots.
The win improved Maryland's record to 6-3 all-time in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge and gave the Terps their second consecutive victory over Illinois in the event.
The ACC won the event, 8-3, marking the ninth time it has downed the Big Ten.

Hayes has scored in double figures in five of Maryland's seven games this season.
He is second on the team with 35 assists and leads the squad with 11 steals.
Hayes tallied 15 points against North Florida in the season opener and posted a personal-best seven rebounds against Missouri. He set a new career high with 18 points against Illinois.
He leads the team from the free throw line, shooting 86 percent (19 of 22).
Sophomore guard Greivis Vasquez enjoyed a breakout season as a freshman in 2006-07 and has improved in 2007-08:
Vasquez averages a team-high 15.9 points per game. As a freshman he scored 9.8 points per game.
He has topped his career high twice this season. He set a new career high with 21 points against Hampton before scoring 22 against Lehigh. He has scored in double digits in five of seven games this year.
Vasquez leads the team with 40 assists and has dished out at least five assists in three games this year. He has recorded ten assists twice (Northeastern and Illinois).
He has improved his rebounding from 3.3 per game as a freshman to 5.7 this season.
Vasquez is averaging a team-high 37.0 minutes per game.
Vasquez spent the summer as a member of the Venezuelan National team which competed in the FIBA Americas Championships in Las Vegas during August.

Freshman Braxton Dupree was inserted into Maryland's starting lineup against Lehigh and has responded with increased production:
After scoring nine points in his first five games, Dupree has averaged 12.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in his last two games.
Dupree scored a season-high 14 points in his first game as a starter against Lehigh.
In his second start against Illinois, Dupree scored 10 points.
Despite preparing for final examinations and participating in prestigious regular season tournaments over the years, Maryland has excelled during the month of December under Gary Williams. His Terrapins have posted an all-time record of 97-32 (.752) in the last month of the calendar.
Williams guided the Terps to an unblemished mark of 8-0 during December of 2000.
Maryland downed Illinois, 69-61 as part of the Ninth Annual Big Ten-ACC Challenge. It was the Terrapins' second consecutive victory over Illinois as the Terps knocked off the Illini, 72-66 in 2006. Maryland improved its record to 6-3 in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge.
