POSITION TITLE: Assistant AD for Human Resources
(Coordinator)
DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics
CATEGORY: Full-time Exempt (100047)
RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinates all departmental exempt and non-exempt searches, including the full-cycle of staffing, from the formulation of search and selection plans, writing position descriptions, preparing advertisements, facilitating the search process, drafting employment offer letters, and conducting new hire orientation. Corresponds and interacts with applicants, search committee members, and hiring officials throughout the process. Acts as a liaison with University Human Resources for all Intercollegiate Athletics staff and coaches on all related human resources issues such as health benefits, employee contracts, orientation, retirement, and employee relations. Develops and distributes appropriate human resources related forms/materials and answers questions as needed. Periodically reviews and updates position descriptions as needed. Responsible for overseeing the Performance Review and Development process for staff and coaches. Works with sport supervisors and unit managers to prepare annual employment contracts for coaches and staff. Works closely with the ICA Business Office on payroll and timesheet issues. Will oversee ICA administrative support staff to ensure coordination of schedules and duties. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in HR or related field and at least 3 years of HR experience, preferably with a generalist background or specific experience in one or more of the following areas: recruiting, employment, benefits, compensation, or employee relations. Must have the ability to interpret and apply HR policies, laws and regulations. Must have strong oral and written communication skills, exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through abilities. Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and tact.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
