POSITION TITLE:               Administrative Assistant, HR/Receptionist

UNIVERSITY: The University of Maryland is one of the more comprehensive and successful athletic programs in the United States with 27 sports and an annual expense budget of approximately $55 million in the context of a distinguished academic University which is a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities and a beautiful campus located 8 miles north of the nation's capital and 30 miles south of Baltimore.  The men's / women's swimming and diving teams compete in the premier collegiate athletic aquatic facility in the country, which hosts international and national championships such as the World Cup Swimming Championship, USA Swimming National Championship, and Atlantic Coast Conference Championship. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Duties: The incumbent in this position will serve as the department receptionist and act as the primary administrative assistant to the Assistant Athletics Director for Human Resources. He/she will also assist with other administrative duties in the Director's office suite as needed. Duties include, but are not limited to; directing visitors, answering phones, preparing correspondences, ordering supplies, filing, copying and distributing documents, scheduling and maintaining common areas (conference rooms, kitchens, break areas, etc.), distributing mail and faxes, assisting with ICA staff events, posting new positions, tracking resumes, maintaining databases for all searches, and assisting with Open Enrollment, Maryland Charities Campaign and other departmental benefit programs. Position will work closely with the Business Office on payroll and timesheet issues. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel software packages required. Experience using PHR is helpful. Experience maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information is preferred. Knowledge of and interest in athletics helpful. Ability to multi-task effectively required.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED AND 3 years experience providing administrative support.

SALARY:       $30,305 to $36,366
