Terrapin Softball Concludes Home Schedule Against George Washington Wednesday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland softball team finishes its home regular season schedule Wednesday in a non-conference doubleheader against George Washington, starting at 4 p.m. The Terps come in 32-15 on the season and 20-7 at home this year. It will be the final home regular season games for seniors Jenny Belak, Brittany Bessho, Meghan Booth, Whitney Reigel and Sarde Stewart.

It could be a record-setting day for Belak, who stands just two hits shy of the all-time hits record at Maryland of 212. Her 58 hits this season lead the Terps and is the eighth highest total in a single season at Maryland. She has already broken three school career records this season including stolen bases with 52, triples with 12 and at-bats with 716.

The Colonials come to College Park with an 8-23 record and have lost seven of their last eight games. Chrysanthi Halkiotis leads GW with a .386 average, while hitting four home runs and 19 RBI. Amanda Gabriel and Elisa Van Kirk lead the Colonials with five home runs each.
