COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland junior Meredith Nelles has been named to ESPN the Magazine's Academic All-District II University Softball Team, as announced Thursday.

The pitcher from Wilmington, Del. was named to the first team after being named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic team her first two years at Maryland.

Nelles has a 3.46 GPA in elementary education. Nelles was 10-3 this season with a 2.17 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 25 appearances. She will move on to the national ballot for Academic All-America, where voting begins next week.

The ACC had six players on the first team and four on the second team.
